the circular top inlaid with a junk, smaller boats and figures in a landscape within a double border of pictorial cartouches, buildings and dragons on a pierced pedestal and a circular moulded base, a typed label to the underside of the top 'A SUPERB MARQUETRIE CENTRE TABLE, of the finest Chinese manufacture, the top, sides, and base, beautifully inlaid with Boxwood and Ivory, (engraved) in Mandarines, Idols, Junks, Furniture, Dragons & c, and supported on sumptuously carved pedestal
This unequalled specimen of Cabinet Work was presented by a distinguished Mandarine to a British Officer', the top distressed -- 52in. (132cm.) diameter, 31in. (78cm.) high
