A family portrait drawn as a pendant to the present sheet depicting two women embroidering in an interior was with Colnaghi in 1992, no. 39. Portraits are quite rare in Natoire's oeuvre. Another drawn portrait probably of the artist's mother is in the Musée Atger in Montpellier, P. Rosenberg in Charles-Joseph Natoire, exhib. cat., Troyes, Musée des Beaux-Arts and elsewhere, 1977, no. 6.
