Lot Essay

The atribution has been kindly suggested on the basis of a photograph by Jaap Bolten in a communication dated 7 April, 2001. Dr. Bolten supports an attribution to Hendrick over that of his father Abraham, citing that Abraham almost never drew on blue paper, nor was the handling of the black chalk reminiscent of the father's work.
