A Siena plate
Circa 1745, probably Ferdinando Maria Campani
Painted with Hercules bringing Alcestis before King Admetus, Admetus seated on a rock with a female attendant nearby, before distant buildings and mountains, within a manganese line and ochre rim (slight rim chip at 5 o'clock, the centre with an area of re-painting to disguise flaking, slight flaking to rim)
9¾ in. (24.8 cm.) diam.
