1757, gilt interlaced L's enclosing gilt date letter E, incised T and DU
Of baluster form, the foliage-moulded loop handle enriched with gilding, the concave upper half with interwoven gilt-edged green ribbons against interlocking garlands of flowers below a double gilt dentil rim, the slightly flared foot with a green band between gilt lines (some very slight sanding, handle with minute wear to gilding)

Lot Essay

This is from the large service given by King Louis XV of France to the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria in 1758. The entire service cost 24,768 livres and the majority of the service is still in Vienna. See P. Verlet, Sèvres (Paris, 1954), pl. 32.
