A Tournai white group of Le Forgeron
Circa 1770
Modelled with an arrow-smith and his companion on a rocky outcrop before a scroll-moulded arbour with pierced panels of diaper ornament with flowerheads at the intersections, the smith beating a piece of metal on an anvil, his raised right arm with a hammer and his left with pincers, a pair of bellows at his feet, his companion holding an arrow and seated on a tree-stump to his right (upper section of arbour broken through and restored, restoration to his right arm, brim of her hat and some flowers, head of arrow lacking, chipping to flowers and foliage)
