A Paris inkwell
Circa 1820, incised P.D.
With a wine barrel on a richly gilt wheel-barrow, a white biscuit winged Cupid pouring wine from its tap into a gilt bucket with an amatory trophy, a gilt amphora-shaped vase and shell nearby, on a richly gilt oval plinth edged with white anthemion and flowerheads, on four claw and ball feet (minute chip to tap of barrel, plinth with very slight areas of rubbing to gilding, minute areas of wear to gilding)
6 in. (15.2 cm.) high
