A pair of Meissen lobed white teabowls and saucers and a Meissen baluster oil-jug and cover
All circa 1740, blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummer 24 to teabowls and saucers, jug with Pressnummer 10 to footrim and gilder's JR monogram
The teabowls and saucers of octafoil form, the exterior of the bowls and undersides of the saucers moulded with three prunus branches each with one applied flower (one saucer cracked and with associated rim chip, both teabowls chipped and with chipping to applied flowers); the jug and cover with moulded bearded mask spout, the sides painted with Pierrot in a striped suit with a gallant and companion, the reverse with a woman playing a tambourine beside her female attendant, in wooded landscape vignettes, the top rim with a pierced gilt-edged aperture for a spoon (restored chip to rim of cover, the handle and finial later replacements)
