Circa 1740, the cover a later porcelain replacement
Modelled by J.J. Kändler as Cupid seated on the back of a swan, his bright-yellow drapery billowing behind him and forming the handle, the swan naturally modelled with finely incised plumage, black beak and legs, the spout moulded with waterweeds before the swan's breast, on a circular mound base applied with coloured flowers (restoration to swan's beak, Cupid's wings repaired and restoration to his right index finger and thumb and right ankle and foot, chip to edge of cover)
