A pair of Meissen figures of Bulgars
Circa 1750, blue crossed swords marks at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, the bearded Bulgar in a fur-lined green hat, long white robe, open puce jacket, yellow sash and yellow pantaloons, poised on one leg with a staff resting on his shoulder, she with a gilt and puce conical hat, yellow robe, puce scaled under-garment, gilt and green flowered skirt and yellow shoes, each on shaped oval rocky mound bases applied with flowers and foliage (slight chipping to flowers and foliage, upper tip of his staff restuck, lower tip replacement, restoration to his two small right fingers, left thumb and forefinger lacking, she with restoration to hat ribbons and two ribbons on cloak, very minor extended firing crack through base and rock)
