A Meissen (Marcolini) coffee-can and saucer
Circa 1795, blue crossed swords mark and star marks, Pressnummer 4 (?) 9 to can and 4 to saucer
The can with angular ear-shaped handle, the black-ground border between gilt lines and painted with scrolling foliage issuing from Sphinx's tails divided by a blue panel with a pink and grisaille cameo of playing putti, the saucer similarly decorated about a central medallion with a stylised flowerhead, gilt line rims (areas of very slight wear to gilding)
