A Sevres gold-mounted oviform vinaigrette
Circa 1768, the contemporary mount with a Paris mark (JD?) for 1768
The body with swags of foliage suspended from an elaborate border of garlands of roses within gilt cartouches divided by puce flowerheads and shaped blue-ground panels with gilt dot ornament, the cover with a foliage garland within gilt concentric circles and a blue-ground border divided by gilt dots within white ovals, each end with a gilt stylised flowerhead, the hinged mount bright-cut with a garland (slight wear to gilding on blue-ground border of cover)

Provenance
Princess Sophie Soutzo (née Princess Marzocozdato), Principal Lady in Waiting to Queen Sophia of Greece (1870-1932), and thence by descent to the present owner.
