The first with straight etched double-edged blade (pitted and discoloured), gilt-brass hilt comprising straight quillons, knuckle-guard, downcurved shell bearing an applied copper 'VR' cypher (originally silvered), grip bound with copper wire, and crown-shaped pommel, in its brass-mounted black lacquered leather scabbard (mounts originally gilt); the second similar (blade nicked and discoloured, scabbard associated); the third with slightly curved fullered blade (minor pitting), one-piece brass hilt of British 1822 infantry officer pattern, and shagreen-covered grip
