Circa 1810-20
With slender single-edged fullered blade becoming double-edged at the point, lightly etched at the forte with foliage and trophies of arms, and ornamental copper-alloy stirrup hilt with lion's head pommel and black fishskin-covered grip, cast and chased in relief with foliage, crowned fouled anchors, and the Prince of Wales's feathers, in black leather scabbard with gilt-copper mounts (gilding worn) chased with strapwork framing oval 'cameos' bearing respectively a bust of King George IV, and allegorical figures, the locket signed 'Dudley, Grand Parade, Portsmouth'
