With swamped browned multi-groove rifled barrels each with blued fore-sight, gold band at the muzzle, gold line at the breech, and signed in full in gold on the top flat, case-hardened patent breeches finely etched with scrolling vines against a stippled ground, tangs en suite each incorporating the blued back-sight, flat locks en suite each with gold signature and stepped tail, iron mounts en suite, the tangs, locks, spur trigger-guards and fore-end caps also decorated with differing monster-heads, winged monsters, a harpy, and a putto, the shaped pommels chiselled in high relief with scrolls, foliage and bunches of grapes, finely figured walnut half-stocks with fluted butts carved in relief with foliage on a punched ground, blued triggers, and much original finish: in original ebony-veneered case decorated on the the outside with inlaid brass lines, engraved pierced brass panels, and shaped escutcheon engraved 'S.E. le Prince E. de Belgiojoso d'Este' (some defects, lid cracked), the interior lined in red velvet (corner compartment lids missing) with accessories including case-hardened bullet mould and Boche patent flask with horn body, signed in gilt letters on the lining of the lid, barrel-forger's mark of Léopold Bernard
