Comprising an oval tsuba decorated with maple leaves in takabori, gold details, signed Togintei Yoshiteru and Kao; a fuchi-kashira similarly decorated, signed on the kashira Yoshiteru zo; a kurikata similarly decorated signed Sato Yoshiteru and Kao; a kuchikane; a pair of menuki forming dragonflies, gold details; and a kojiri signed Heian Yoshiteru and Kao, late Edo/Meiji period (19th century) (8)

Lot Essay

The artist Sato Yoshiteru was a student of Araki Tomei, Goto Mitsubumi and Sato Toho. Later in 1852, he bacame independent and took the name Sato. He worked in the Meiji period.
