The blade honzukuri, iorimune, torii-zori with extended chugissaki, slightly tsukare, itame-mokume hada, midare hamon of nioi with some ko-nie, chu-maru boshi, ubu-nakago (possibly slight machi okuri), signed Morihisa, 16th century, 69.5 cm.,
In a black lacquer saya, decorated with waves and cherry blossoms in gold and silver foil, and calligraphy in light relief, the saya signed Tsuneyoshi for the lacquer, matching ishimeji silver mounts comprising fuchi-kashira, plain tsuba with o-seppa, koiguchi, kurikata, seme-kojiri, all chiselled with cherry blossoms in a stream, gilt details, shakudo and gilt menuki of kiku, the fuchi and o-seppa, with signature Hountei Yoshimasa
