GAKUTEI (fl. mid 1810s-late1830s): surimono, kakuban, approx. 21.0 x 18.5cm., a group of three surimono, one from the series of Niju-shi sho for Katsushika Group, depicting Tada Mitsunaka slaying a dragon, a poem by Hisakataya Misora, signed Gakutei; another two from Honcho Niju-shi ko for Honchoren group, an old lady sitting beside a farmer holding a hoe and another of Mibu Hiroyoshi standing with a hoe, signed Gakutei,--good impressions, slightly faded, one browned and backed, the first with the collector Hayashi Tadamasa's round seal (3)
