A PAIR OF IMARI OCTAGONAL VASES AND COVERS, decorated in iron-red enamels and gilt on underglaze blue depicting two folding screens with a pavilion and garden scene and resting on a wooden veranda all on a ground of plum, kiku and peony foliage, the shoulder with drapes and stylized flower pattern beneath a band of panels containing flowers on a ground of stylized kiku flowerheads, the neck with panels of peonies, the domed covers echoing the shoulders and surmounted with a large knop finial (some old damage and restoration, one finial replaced), late 17th century
