BETTE DAVIS BOOK TITLED 'LA COUSINE BETTE'
A first edition of the French novel 'La Cousine Bette' by Honore de Balzac from the personal library of Bette Davis. Published in 1846 and now in fragile condition due to its age, this particular book was very important to Miss Davis as she was called Bette with an 'e' instead of a 'y' because of this story. Her custom-made bookplate, designed with a Scottish Terrier above text reading Ex Libris Bette Davis, is glued to the inside cover while the outside covers have a marbled finish.
