KNUTE ROCKNE FOOTBALL CLEATS
Circa 1920s
A pair of vintage MacGregor brand football cleats believed to have been worn by Knute Rockne. Size 10 1/2 and made of quality brown leather, this particular pair was purchased at a charity auction in Norwich, Connecticut sometime in the 1950s where they were advertised as belonging to the celebrated Notre Dame coach. A notcard from the original purchaser of the cleats, which appears to be over forty years old, is included as the writer mentions ...the absolute buy!!! of the year -- Knute Rockne's old football shoes -- I got them...[sic]
