A fruitwood and brass model of an English fortification cannon, circa 1860
a turned wood barrel which pivots on its turned wooden trunnions, base of barrel has a carved wood breech which drops down when brass shaped lever is released while a wood breech bore cover plate pivots up thus exposing the chamber. Mounted on an original fruitwood carriage with precision geared brass height adjustment crant and a precision brass drive system which rotates the cannon on an axis by a revolving brass wheel.
