A 19th Century French Prisoner of War style model of a third rate 64 gun Ship of the Line, circa 1830-1840
the hull is planked in bone and brass pinned with figurehead, anchors, bell (later), the capstan with repetitive star motif on the cap, pin and fife rails, ship's boat mounted with lifting tackle over the center hatch (which displays mechanism for retractable cannons in partially working condition). The cannons are carved of ivory, other details include brass deck rails, ships wheel, masts and rigging (rigging and blocks replaced) quarter galleries, stern gallery and balcony, rudder and cannon mechanism controlled by two drawstrings which exit at the transom of the model, mounted on a mahogany base trimmed with ivory.
