This image captures the Nantucket whaler Harvest being towed into harbour by the steamer Massachusetts in August, 1844. The Harvest arrived from the Pacific Ocean with 1636 barrels of oil from the sperm whale. On the right of the image is Brant Point's wooden lighthouse, in the background the town wharves and on the skyline the three famous windmills, South Tower, the Methodist Church and the North Church tower.
