The painting depicts the vessel under full sail with flags flying from every mast and the American flag off of the gaff. The vessel is identified on trailboards on both the forward and aft sections of the hull as well as on the rear banner. The painting has excellent detail and there are approximately eleven figures on deck. The standing and running rigging are accurately rendered as well as the sail seams and reef points. The vessel is off the coast of Truro, Massachusetts. One can see Highland Lighthouse and to its right, the Marconi Station. The Charles G. Endicott was built in 1897 in Bath, Maine. She was 171.6 feet in length. Her home port was Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
