A Gustave Vichy musical walking automaton
the French bisque head with closed mouth, fixed blue glass eyes, pierced ears and original blond mohair wig, on wheeled metal base containing the going-barrel automaton movement playing two airs and causing the figure to move in a circle, turn and raise her head, the right metal hand to twist a bone fan and the left to lift a lorgnette, in original pale blue silk walking dress with jacket, pleated skirt, train and matching bonnet, the motor stamped Vichy Fils, Paris - 22in. (56cm.) high, (head movement and cylinder in need of adjustment, costume fragile), the head possibly by Gaultier, circa 1880
