MOULDED FOUR-CHARACTER MARK KANGXI SHANG WAN

Finely moulded on the exterior with shou characters divided by formal lotus scroll, all between key pattern bands encircling the foot and rim, the interior lacquered in plain black, the exterior of honey-brown tone--4¼in. (10.9cm.) diam.

The moulded characters of the nianhao are evenly spaced on the base and may be translated, 'a plaything for the appreciation of the Kangxi Emperor'
