A LATE MING CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER DISH
JIAJING SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD


The centre carved through red, black and orange layers with a standing scholar drinking wine below a framework suspending various auspicious objects and emblems, the foreground with eight young boys at play below a fruiting peach tree, the well carved with four striding dragons, the reverse with a continuous peony meander (age cracks and small foot chips)--12½in. (32cm.) diam.
