A VERY FINE PAIR OF JADEITE LADY IMMORTALS
LATE QING DYNASTY
Carved from well-matched stone of 'sea-foam' green tone with some areas of white and a few russet inclusions, each as a standing lady Immortal looking to her side, the hair in a tight coiffe held by pins, the robes hanging elegantly down the body with wide pendent sleeves, some flying edges and heavily gathered around the feet, one maiden with a crane perched at her left side and a long branch of flowering magnolia across her shoulders, the other bearing a branch of fruiting peach and holding a peony spray--14½in. (37cm.) high, wood stands (2)
