During Ye Zhongsan's early years, when Zhou was the preeminent painter in Beijing, Ye did a series of superb copies of the master's works which come closer than any of the other many copies to being totally convincing. This is one of the finest, where the true hand of the painter is given away only by Ye's inability to match Zhou's calligraphic grace and personality.
