A MOULDED CIRCULAR AND TWO MOULDED RECTANGULAR RED INKCAKES
THE CIRCULAR ONE DATED QIANLONG, 30TH YEAR (AD 1765); THE RECTANGULAR INKCAKES DATED JIAQING BINGZI (AD 1816), AND ALL OF THE PERIOD

The circular inkcake moulded to one side with the 'Three Friends of Winter', pine, prunus and bamboo, the tree trunks picked out in gilt, the reverse with the inscription sui han san you, 'the three friends of winter'; and two similar rectangular moulded inkcakes, with date inscriptions in relief to one side, recessed to the other and with an inscription on the top, zhu gong, 'best quality vermilion'--the first 3¼in. (8.4cm.) diam. (3)
