A FINE AND RARE PEACH-SHAPED RU-TYPE BRUSHWASHER, XI
QIANLONG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The shallow vessel shaped as a large peach on a leafy, fruit-laden stem forming a handle at one end, covered overall with a pale bluish glaze suffused with a fine network of pale amber crackle, four spur marks on the base showing the dark grey body--9 7/8in. (25.1cm.) long, stand and box

A very similar example is illustrated in Qing Porcelain of Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong from the Palace Museum Collection, 1989, pl. 129. A smaller brushwasher of this form, also with Qianlong seal mark, is illustrated by Ayers, Baur Collection, Catalogue, vol. III, no. A339.
