A FINE MING-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE GARLIC-HEAD VASE, SUANTOUPING
DAOGUANG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The body painted with six leafy sprigs comprising peach, pomegranate and persimmon, the sanduo, each alternating with its corresponding flower, all issuing from lingzhi fungus above a band of lotus lappets and waves around the spreading foot, the shoulder with a moulded raised rib dividing lotus panels enclosing flame motifs above and key-pattern and pendent ruyi-heads below, the bulbous head with a key-fret band above a continuous scroll of camellia--11in. (28cm.) high
