A FINELY CARVED IMPERIAL POLYCHROME LACQUER RECTANGULAR DISH
INCRIBED QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD
Carved from red, green and yellow layers of lacquer with a central shou character supporting a medallion of Shoulao above a quatrefoil dish filled with 'precious objects' surrounded by a pair of dragons and cloud scrolls reserved on a diaper-pattern ground, the gently everted sides carved with four panels containing figures in a garden setting divided by auspicious emblems at the corners, the reverse with a continous band of scrolling lingzhi vines issuing green leaves, the base iscribed with the mark and a four-character inscription Chun Shou Bao Pan--8 1/2in.
