A FINE AND RARE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF MARICHI
14TH CENTURY

The figure seated in dhyanasana wearing a festooned necklace and belt, with six arms extended outwards bearing attributes, the one in the top most right hand inscribed yue (moon) and in the topmost left hand re (sun), the frontal visage with a serene expression and a third vertical eye in the forehead, the left head depicting a three- eyed demon and the right head depicting a wild three-eyed boar, all encircled by a foliate tiara (four attributes lost)--14 1/2in. (37cm.) high
