Well potted in the form of an archaic bronze ding with the deep bowl supported on hollow cylindrical legs, decorated around the sides with a raised fillet between a band of impressed leiwen pattern and pendent triangular leaves alternating in pattern, all below the wide mouth with a squared rim and two upright loop handles, covered overall in an even ivory-white glaze, a maker's mark Ruan zao incised on the underside--7¼in. (18.4cm.) high
