One decorated with a scholar seated on elaborate rockwork with an attendant, below a flowering prunus tree, the other with an acolyte directing a sage towards an old gnarled tree, the decorations overlaid with wood, jade, agate and other hardstones, one with a lengthy imperial inscription overlaid in mother-of-pearl dated to Qianlong yiyou nian, corresponding to 1765 (minor losses and replacements)--57 x 31in.
