A MOTHER-OF-PEARL AND GOLD-INLAID BLACK-LACQUER RECTANGULAR TABLE SCREEN, 18TH CENTURY, one side decorated with a man asleep in the window of a pavilion, his dream of a courting couple made visible in the landscape below, within a diaper border, the reverse decorated with a fourteen-character inscription describing the dream, raised on a brown-lacquered stand pierced with two ruyi heads; together with a mother-of pearl inlaid black lacquer circular box and cover, 18th century, the flat top decorated in mother-of-pearl and gold inlay with a scene of boys at play in a landscape, with various blossoming branches or stems on the sides--12¼in. high overall; 8in. diam.
