TWENTY-FIVE WESTERN ASIATIC CYLINDER SEALS
Circa 1550-1000 B.C.
Including Mitanian seals, circa 1550-1350 B.C., five with seated or standing figures grasping a tree, animals in the field; two with standing figures with foliate or animal terminals; one with a kneeling figure grasping an antelope, a lion attacking from the right; one with two crossed bulls; one with a row of birds; and one with a row of heads below a row of stars; Levantine seals, circa 1450-1100 B.C., four with animals, some in foliate setting, others with latticed panels; one with two schematic figures at a table, one with two figures with raised arms, and three with schematic linnear patterns; Middle Elamite seals, circa 1300-1100 B.C., one with vertical bands of zigzag; one with horizontal crosshatched bands; and one with irregular zigzag lines; together with a cast bronze cylinder, probably provincial Levantine, circa 3rd millennium B.C., with a connecting linear design an animal form in the upper field (25)
