The red and black lacquer inro carved in guri technique with scrolling clouds, enclosing on each side a reserve illustrated with a scholar's pavilion set against a recessed diaperwork ground and embellished with kirigane and aogai, interior cases black lacquer, the risers decorated in iro-e hiramaki-e, aogai, kirigane and gyobu with different floral and geometric patterns; fitted with a soft-metal bead ojime applied with a copper deer and gilt grasses, and an amber netsuke carved as a finger citron-- 2 7/8in. (6.7cm.) high
