The ivory screen composed of two hinged panels each divided into two sections, the top section of each panel decorated in gold togidashi, nashiji, and inlaid mother-of-pearl, coral, and horn on a kinji ground with pheasants perched on a cherry bough and three sparrows flying above a stream, the gyobu-ground bottom sections each with a silver-bordered reserve decorated in similar technique on a fundame ground with a courtier's hat and fan amidst flowering branches, the reverse of the screen decorated on all four sections in iro-e togidashi with butterflies, chrysanthemums, and autumn grasses by a stream, signed on the front right panel in a raised red lacquer reserve, fitted with silver kanagu--11½in wide, 9¾in. high
