Of circular section with flat lid designed overall with the whirlpools, rocks and crashing waves of Naruto in bright gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and okibirame with details of black lacquer and nashiji, the interior and recessed circular base nashiji, signed in red lacquer with kakihan under the lid and on the wood tomobako by the tea master Sen Tantansai Soshitsu, the 14th Urasenke tea master, Naruto maki-e hiranatsume Soshitsu (lacquer flat tea caddy with Naruto, signed Soshitsu); a label affixed to the outside of the storage box attributes the caddy to Kumagawa Ryodo--2 1/8in. (5.3cm.) high, 3½in. (8.3cm.) diameter
