The shallow, circular case decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and kirigane with a landscape of pavilions, pagoda, hills and a rushing river, the background dense nashiji continued on the base; the underside of the lid lacquered in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, cut gold and silver, silver powder and nashiji with cherries in flower on the banks of a river, the sky area roiro and nashiji, the lower section of the box matching the sky; the mirror cast on the back with a pair of confronted cranes and cherry scroll and finished in a charcoal-colored patina--mirror 4 3/8in.
