Constructed in two parts, the lower section, which is lacquered in nashiji, with three recessed panels of landscapes in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with accents of okibirame, e-nashiji, roiro and inlaid silver (the moon), and the upper section with slender cylindrical bars of bamboo fitted with cloth netting across the top, four of the bars replaced; mounted with a Chinese porcelain bird feeder and small side metal fittings for attached cords; interior of lower basin red lacquer, the deep, recessed base roiro and nashiji--14 5/8in.
