Of rectangular shape set on four high bracket feet and pierced with two apertures fitted with openwork florets, decorated on the outer surfaces in gold, silver and red hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with cranes and flowering grasses at Wakanoura on a roiro and mura-nashiji ground, the top additionally decorated with a flock of cranes on the shore of the sea, of black and gold togidashi and with silver waves, and with three cranes flying above, the inner surfaces of the lower tier matching the ground of the outer surfaces, the inner surface below the tier nashiji, edges fundame, silver mounts cast with peony scroll fitted on upper edges with u-shaped hooks for the suspension of silk cords--21 5/8 x 13¼ x 18 7/8in.
