Of rectangular shape fitted with a large lower drawer and two hinged doors opening to six rectangular drawers, decorated on the top, sides and back with pairs of poem cards differently patterned with landscapes and flowers in gold and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi, hirame and kirigane and random accents of red lacquer on a faded nashiji ground, the doors patterned by floral diaperwork and recessed panels of a veranda with clock, lantern and writing table, the large drawer designed with folded fans and the interior drawers in iro-e hiramaki-e with butterflies, the insides nashiji, and the interiors of the doors gold maki-e lotus on a roiro and hirame ground, fittings polished down to copper--11¾ x 7½ x 11¼in.
