Enclosed within a black lacquer outer box formed as a segment of bamboo pierced with bands of mist, the two-tiered box and cover decorated in gold togidashi, hiramaki-e, aogai and gold foil with five sparrows in flight on the cover, the sides with reeds, berries and bird rattles hanging on cords, base and interior silver nashiji, fundame rims--4½ x 2½ x 3 3/8in.
