The deep rectangular tray set on a brownish-red lacquer stand designed in silver and black hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with grasses, the side panels and base of the stand open; the tray decorated with autumn plants in gold, silver, red and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi, kirigane and nashiji on a roiro-nuri ground, two leaves and one flower of inlaid shell, the sides of the tray designed with varicolored-gold and black with clouds and small gold birds and with accents of kirigane and nashiji, the base of the tray roiro-nuri, rim silver, in wood tomobako signed Kaiyo Ippyosai and sealed Ippyosai--including stand 12¼ x 9 5/8 x 5¼in.
