Lot Essay

There appear to be no other published examples with this glaze and a Jiajing mark on the interior of the foot

However, yellow-glazed examples of the same shape with Jiajing six-character marks on the interior of the foot are known, including the example in the Percival David Foundation, with interior-molded decoration of dragons amidst clouds, exhibited in Elegant Form and Harmonious Decoration, Four Dynasties of Jingdezhen Porcelain, London, June 10-September 10, 1992, Catalogue, no. 79
