The rectangular panel decorated with a pair of birds perched in a flowering tree above chrysanthemum, with pierced rocks, narcissus, lingzhi fungus and various plants in the foreground and further chrysanthemums growing from rocks to the side, all executed in kingfisher feathers of brilliant turquoise hue and other feathers of purplish blue and golden brown tone reserved against a black ground, set in a hongmu frame carved with dragon and foliate scroll and an inner keyfret border, raised on a stand with a lotus scroll-carved panel and dragon scroll spandrels
